simple help,pls

I'm a beginner,so I just wonder when I've download a set of icons and how can I change out for example the trash icon and the home icon in explorer then?

For some icons, you have to change that in the Display Properties Panel. You go into Destop and chose "Customize Desktop". For Shortcut icons you can right click them and change it in there.

Okay well I just downloaded like....quite a few zip files for icons, and I havent the slightest idea how I'd use them! Please help me!
