A good girlfriend or boyfriend is one which:

Takes notice of you when people are there

Who compliments you every now and then

Takes an interest in your life

Listens to what you have to say

Tells you how they feel

Looks after you

I don't know about 'good' since good or bad is dependent on a person's perspective, but for me, I'd say a 'good' girlfriend/boyfriend is a strong-willed person. He/She must know what she wants but would listen to what others would want for him/her and then decide. His/Her decisions must come not only from the heart, but also from the mind.

He/She has her own perception on what is right and believes firmly on it, but respects others. He/She speaks as much as she listens. She may wear make-up but not so to hide who she really is.

He/She is interested but knows her limitations. He/She must not only look after you but teach you how to look after yourself. He/She must have faith on his/her boyfriend/girlfriend and must also have faith on what God wants for them.

Most importantly, he/she must be a good and loyal friend who would always be there for you just as you are there for him/her.

Might be a bit corny, but that's how I see it.

A good boy/girl friend is someone who will care for you as if for him/herself. He/She will trust you as you would do for him/her, and supports you even if you do a bad decision, because deciding the way you want to go is your responsibility not his/her.

A good friend will help you and be your confident, as you will do for him/her. A good friend is like a double of you... With difference of course

And most of all, a good friend will let you go away with no regrets, for the best of you two. But be carefull, if this happens, and this is a true friend, then this means YOU did something bad enough to broke the link between you two.
