Update night 7?
I am standing on a platform overlooking a field. I know this place, it is the western territory of my dream world. It has been a long time since I last stood here. I thought my Dream world had vanished when I stopped living for it, over a year ago. But now I am back and the memories and life that I once lived here returned with it. Kinroy...A place I had created as a child. An escape from reality, which overtime had become more real to me then the real world was. When I was younger I often doubted our world existed at all.
It has been a long time and the world has changed much since I was last here. I rarely skip places when I dreamed of Kinroy. If I woke up while in the ice lands, I was still there when I went back to sleep. Yet regardless of the time it had been since I was last here. I know I was never in the Western lands, and not in full battle armor that was for sure.
I the platform I was on had about 20 other people on it. About 50 yards away there stood 3 more platforms which looked the same as ours. I walked over to a young girl who had a bow over her shoulder. "whats going on here?" I asked. She seemed suprised to see me, then I recognized her. Her name was Liz a young girl I had met and for a short time dated in the Kaster woods. "Hi dream walker" she smiled using my nick name that most the world knew me by.
"Hi Liz" I said, watching the smile grow on her face at the fact that I remembered her after all this time. "So what is going on, are we at war?" I asked seeing as she to was in armor.
"You've been gone a long time Dream Walker" She said. "The Apcolypes is upon our world. The gates of hell have opened, what you see before you is mans last attempt to save our world."
She pointed over the edge of the platform, which I could see was high off the ground. An army of thousands, no Hundreds of thousands of men stood below. Each armed with weapons and armor. Across the field stood Hellsway, the mountain had been split into as if a giants ax had cut through the earth. From the pit I could see creatures emerging. Although from this distance it was to hard to tell if they were truly demons.
Me and Liz talked some more, about what had happened over the past year. After the fall of Norcom, which I had help bring about. The world had been peaceful, then last summer. Demons started apearing in the west. At first they were small and easy to control. But they came with more and more numbers and there power and size kept increasing until they were to powerful to stop.
From what Liz could tell me, a man called Jacob Lor had gathered enough power that he was able to organize the vast army that was now about to attack the source of the demons. Hopefully driving them back to the pits of hell and then holding them there long enough to reseal the mountain.
I cursed at being gone so long, however I doubt Liz heard it for at the same time a horn sounded and a swarm of flying lizard like creatures came out of the sky. I reached to my back and grabbed an arrow and bow. Shooting at a Lizard and nailing it between the eyes. I have forgotten how long it had been since I had held a bow. Placing an arrow again into my string I shot, this one hitting a wing and sending the creature into the ground where it was stabbed to death by the giant army.
Suddenly The air grew still, I turned around to see a girl about 6 years old standing on the platform. She had white hair and a sad look in her eye. Everyone seemed to be watching her, but something in the back of my head put two and two together. "shoot her" I screamed....
The words didn't even leave my mouth as needles shot from her arms killing two of the archers. Two more fell as I tried to load my bow. I saw as if in slow motion her eyes fall upon Liz, I jumped at Liz trying to push her to the ground before the needle could hit her. My weight easily knocked her down. I quickly turned her over only to see two needles sticking through her neck, her eyes motionless.
"No..." I screamed Launching an arrow at the girls face. It hit but instead of sinking in it bounced off, as if I had hit a rock. Blood poured down the girls face, her sad eyes looked at me and I felt a tear in my own eye. I will never forget that face. I loaded my bow for a second attack but never fired it as a needle went into my heart followed by three more in my neck and lungs.
I woke up gasping for air my heart beating so hard it hurt. A nightmare, the worse I have had in years. |
